IoT-NTN

IoT over Non-Terrestrial Networks

Rel-17 (2022)Rel-18 (2024)

Overview

IoT-NTN adapts NB-IoT and LTE-M to satellite access. Devices obtain a GNSS fix, read NTN system information and pre-compensate timing and frequency before access. Traffic is low-rate and delay-tolerant, and mobility is mainly idle-mode.
